Today I wanna tell you the story of my blog through the headers that I’ve changed so far.
Back to 2008, when everything started, The Indie Handmade Show looked extremely simple. I went for a "no-header” because I really wanted the blog to look airy and free, in order to leave to images and pictures all the space they deserve. I always loved white spaces and I think you can tell that I still do if you look at my blog nowadays.
I also remember that at the time I got inspired by The Sartorialist. If Scott Shuman can do it, so can I, right?

In some months I got very involved with the blog and I used to spend all my free time working at it. I decided I wanted to customize it. In the same period I got as a gift an amazing graphic tablet. So here it is. My very own first header. Totally homemade. It might not look beautiful or perfect, but I loved it so much. It was perfect at the time and I had lot of fun while designing it.

Back to January 2010 I felt the need to change everything. I got a brand new template, I switched to a 3 columns structure which was something I always wanted to try. It has been quite a big change that my lovely readers welcomed in a warm way. As for myself, that was one of the change I loved and wanted the most. That was a time when I could dedicate 100% of my time and energies to the blog. It was a time filled with inspiration and lovely collaborations and projects. I’ll always remember those days with happiness.

new header - 2010
Between 2010 and 2011 I decided to change my header again. I was looking for something “important” and eye-catching. I needed something quite dark and nature-inspired. It was a tough time for me, I was feeling trapped and that header was perfectly matching those feelings of mine. Nowadays it would be a bit too dark for me, but I loved it and I still do, as it has been a part of my history.

My “dark period” has been followed by some weeks of absence from my blog due to work and life related issues. But in July 2011 I came back and my blog blossomed again: new posts, new features and, of course, a new header! For this one I got the inspiration from summer’s warm colors, road trips and adventures.

After a year I decide for a new makeover at the beginning of this summer. I changed the whole structure. The blog looks now much bigger in order to give even more space to pictures and images (that’s vital, being a blog mainly about visual inspiration). I went back to a 2 columns template and I added a navigation bar on top. Here’s the last (for now) header. The inspiration this time came from a sense of lightness and wanderlust.

Stay tuned!
Today I got inspired by a grey and rainy day in London and I created a new header for the fall season. I’ll post it on September. Stay tuned!
